When searching Google Trends today I was surprised to see this at the #2 spot:

✈ ▌▌

Really? Is that the second most searched thing right now? I'm sure there is a chain letter or something going around with this in it but it still seems odd to me. The events that happened over 7 years ago now are still burned into many people's minds but haven't we moved beyond the point in our lives where a symbol like this can be one of the most searched terms in a day? Maybe younger Americans see these are the day our innocence died, somewhat of a pivotal moment in our country's history like the Vietnam war was to the baby boomers. Regardless of the reason of origin, this symbol's appearance is very telling about who we are as a nation and what is still on the back of our minds.
