10 ways to earn extra money online with a computer

As we all know times are tough and earning some extra money online sounds good to all of us - doesn’t it? So, if you have a computer and a willingness to learn these 10 ways to make money online will help you increase your supplemental income.

1. Work as a Virtual Assistant

The Virtual Assistant (VA) industry has been exploding the last couple years. As the name suggests VAs do assistant or secretarial work, but usually they work from home rather than at an office. A couple Google searches will yield more than enough info to get you started.

2. Selling on Ebay

Even though Ebay has been around for a while, there is plenty of money still to be made. You can start by cleaning out your closets and attic. Quality brand-name items often do well on Ebay. Many of the 1,000,000+ Ebay businesses began just reselling items found on clearance racks.

3. Blogging

Believe it or not more and more bloggers are making money blogging and turning their blogs into a decent source of supplemental income. It isn’t easy and will take a while, but if you have the discipline to stick with it for a couple years it can be a viable source of income.

4. Sell your crafts on Etsy

If your friends call you “crafty” then you could probably make some extra money selling your goods on Etsy. Etsy.com is a website that calls itself the, “place to buy and sell all things handmade.” So get knitting and see if it sells!

5. Design logos

There are now so many online businesses and bloggers, that there is a great demand for design work. If you can use Photoshop, Gimp, or some other photo editing tool and have an eye for design you could compete with others to get paid for your graphic works at Crowdspring.com or you could even start your own graphic design business as well.

6. Write product reviews

Do you have an opinion? Do you like to write? If so, you can get paid for writing product reviews at places like Ciao.com, Epinions.com, ReviewStream.com, and a whole bunch of others. Most require a specific number of words per review and a few other minor requirements. Each of them offer cash or perks in exchange for product reviews. If you are a quick typer, this might not be a bad way to earn a few bucks.

7. Become a freelance writer

Even if you didn’t get an “A” in grammar school, you still have a shot to make some money writing articles. The internet is full of sources to get paid for your articles. Some pay per article, and some allow you to collect advertising revenue as readers view your articles. Check out Elance.com, Constant-Content.com, ArticleSale.com, Helium.com.

8. Sell your digital photos

If you have a decent camera and like to take pictures of random objects, this could be for you. There are lots of websites that are looking to buy quality digital photos: shutterstock.com, 123rf.com, dreamstime.com, crestock.com, fotolia.com. As with most things, the better you are, the more money you will probably make, but you never know until you try - right?

9. Ebates Referral program

Sidenote: If you don’t use Ebates for your internet purchases, you are passing up free money. But they also have a great referral program that allows you to make money by referring friends, family, neighbors, and strangers! You can also post your referral link in your signature line of your emails, forum posts, or even add a banner to your website to refer your visitors.

10. Join MTurk

Amazon’s mechanical turk program is a great way make a little money doing very simple tasks. It probably wouldn’t make a great full time job, but may be something you can do instead of or while you watch TV. Sign up at mturk.com.
