1,528 lb Pumpkin Wins World Championship Pumpkin Contest

Thad Starr of Pleasant Hill, Oregon won again at this year's Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-off! His entry this time weighed in at 1,528 lbs and has a circumference of 15 feet! Starr won last year's Halloween weigh-off as well with a slightly smaller pumpkin. He claims that his secret for growing his giant pumpkins is good soil and pampering.
