In Irving, Texas last night, 2000 people gathered to protest the deportation of criminal illegal aliens.

Irving is participating in a Federal program that allows jailers to refer suspected illegal alien inmates to immigration authorities for deportation.

Illegal alien advocate groups are protesting and demanding that the City of Irving suspend participation in this program. These groups are calling for a boycott of businesses in Irving.

Local stations are reporting that more protests are expected today in Irving.

At this point neither side is willing to compromise and the situation appears to be escalating. This situation is volatile.
