Well boys and girls, the speculation and hearsay is finally over. Some of us have known that Lexus has been trying to match the BMW 3- series with the IS. And trying to get a competitive match for the M3 series platform. Well wait no more; the IS-F is currently under construction. Under it massive bulged hood you will get and I quote you, 5.0 liter V-8 engine, putting out over 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft. of torque. The wheel base will have 19” BBS rims, and aluminum Brembo calipers. Hot!

The IS-F will also come with an Eight speed transmission; same used in the new LS, but of course a different gearbox. Lexus says that the upshifts are popped off in a tenth of a second, and the downshifts are met automated blips of the throttle to match engine revs.

Now this IS-F will not being at your local deal till 2008, but we know with the name of Lexus and there performance, it will be on IS that everyone will be licking there lips for.
