Open House New York is a unique weekend event that lets you go behind the scenes of some of the most familiar places in the City, and some little-known gems. There are more than 350 sites featured in all.

During the weekend of October 4th and 5th visitors can get tours of architectural wonders that are rarely seen by New Yorkers (many of which are usually private or off-limits to the public). And while there are many great sites in Manhattan, Open House New York weekend covers all five boroughs of New York City.

The 2008 Open House New York sites include the newly completed 7 World Trade Center, the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, Castle Clinton National Monument in Battery Park, and The Arsenal (originally built as an armory, and now the headquarters of the Parks & Recreation Dept.), to name just a few.

Because of the unique nature of many of the attractions, tours are often limited to a small number of people, and some sites may be open only one day. Visit the Open House New York Web site for a complete listing of locations, hours and times, ticket information, and much more.
