2009 Fashion Trends
posted January 8, 2009 - 10:21pmAccording to The Arizona Republic, January 5th, 2009 Arizona Living section, these are the "Fashion Ins and Outs for 2009"
Outs: Skinny legged pants, painterly prints, anything with logos. (Logos are too pretentious for those who lost their job, and Gucci logos upsets those laid off Gucci workers.), and anything 198 's, such as Harem paints(I had one of those in the '80's. All the rage, and very cool(in temperature) in the hot Arizona sun. And anything flourescent is out, also.
Ins: Ugg boots again, Safari styles,(I never liked safair the first time), wide bottom paints, (I wore them in the '70's. I like them.) platform heel shoes, (I used to like them. Now I'm too old to go teetering around on them, I'll probably break an ankle.), and peep-toe shoes, (I also loved peep-toe shoes, in or out of fashion), and gladiator shoes! (Yeh, I saved the gladiator shoes from the last time they were in! I like the look, but boy are they uncomfortable.)Sweet tiny floral prints, are in (Some of those prints are okay, but I prefer solid colors) and wide big bright bold necklaces are back in(Saved some of mine from the last time).
Anyway only goes to prove, if you wait long enough, and are around long enough what was once old is new again. Doesn't always pay to pack off old trends to the thrift store, and guess what you might find those trends there at the thrift store for pennies!
I bought some good looking black ankle boots at the thrift store, almost new for $4. I think some lady my shoe size probably passed away without getting a chance to wear them, and her estate donated them to the thrift store. I found 3 pair of shoes to fit that day. The identical pair of black boots by the way at the department store were $75. I priced them. If out of work like myself you don't buy $75 boots to stay in fashion, you shop the 2nd hand stores.
And that brings up the next trend in these tough economic times, shoppiing the thrift stores, after window shopping at the mall. You might even find those Ugg boots say at Salvation Army Thrift! Just for the record never liked the Ugg boots, I would look ridiculous, like I was ready to hike a mountain, in the desert.
