2009 Ford Escape

The new 2009 Ford Escape will be launched at the Washington Auto Show this week.

Ford is planning to unveil its new and improved 2009 Escape gas-electric hybrid SUV that is expected to show improvements in power and performance, Ford said Tuesday.

The overall fuel efficiency for the gasoline versions of the 2009 Escape will increase by 1 mpg when compared to the 2008 versions.

This will get the Hybrid an 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway depending on the engine configuration.

Both the gasoline and hybrid versions of the 2009 Ford Escape sport utility vehicle will have a new 2.5-liter engine that will boost power 11 percent to 170 horsepower.

Ford Motor Co said that the gasoline versions will also offer an optional 230-hp, 3.0-liter V6 engine with similar gains in fuel economy.

Ford Escape 2009 is expected to go on sale this summer.
