So what are the hot new colors for 2009 in Home Improvement?

The Color Marketing Group who coordinates the colors of sofas, linen, pillows, paint, wallpaper, etc. for your home have come up with some new color trends for 2009.

It seems like the colors are neutrals with bright color accents. White and other neutrals for walls but with more texture, and shine.

Yellow is a bright accent color, and blue will become as popular as green was last year. Blue like water, and the sky shaw are new commitment to a "greener" planet. Consumers will also choose, orange, turpoise, and reds as accent color.

Purple last year's color will be fadding out and turning into violet (light purple) bedding, and bath accesories, and into plum(red, and purple) accents for tables, and countertop accessories.

The following list shows how colors affect you emotionally. Keep this in mind when choosing colors for your home.

Yellow: Invokes cheerfullness, hope, energy, creativity, caution

Purple invokes calm, uniqueness, meditation, and royalty.

Red invokes warmth, love, valor, glamour, celebration, and danger.

White invokes cold, purity, cleanliness, goodness, and austerity.

Black invokes opulence, sophistication, drama, gloom, and dread.

Green invokes nature, nuturing, fertility, restfulness, luck, and jealousy.

Blue invokes tranquility, mystery, freshness, and uniqueness.

Orange invokes warmth, exoticism, excitment, sociability, and change.

I love orange to wear, out and about, but not to sleep in. I would never fall asleep looking at orange. All that excitment wakes me up! That's why my bedroom drapes are blue for tranquility.

Keep in mind the purpose of the room in choosing a color combination.
