2009 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island

It's a glorious day in Brooklyn for the 2009 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island. You can watch it live on ESPN starting at 12 Noon on the 4th of July. Defending champion Joey Chestnut had to go to overtime to defeat Takeru "Kobi" Kobayahi in 2008... will the Japanese former champ turn the tables this year?

My favorite competitive eater is Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas. Among her records (per Wikipedia): Chicken nuggets - 80 chicken nuggets in 5 minutes Eggs - 65 hard boiled eggs in 6 minutes and 40 seconds Oysters - 46 dozen Acme Oysters in 10 minutes Turducken - 7 3/4 pounds Turducken.com Thanksgiving Dinner in 12 minutes Chow down!
