200-Yard Spider Web Engulfs Texas Trail (Photo!)

In Lake Tawakoni State Park in North Texas, rangers have found a spider web spanning 200 yards. While entomologists debate whether one spider or a network of spiders spun the web which was apparently built to trap mosquitos, visitors to the park are split over its attraction. Some want to see it, but many won't go anywhere near it.

Sort of like mincemeat...

It is like mincemeat pie because not everybody knows whether it is meat or pie, although I don't think Chinese worm candy is a good enough substitute for me to ask for it at dessert time. Maybe there could be a product tie-in with Mescal tequila. _______________________________________________________ "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason? Delectable!

Whatcha got against Chinese worms candy? It falls into the dessert AND meat groups. Try it; you'll like it.

Millions of Spiders Take Over Texas Park

No, I have not seen that one.... I dont usually go to horror movies, and I am not fond of spiders... but these are all over Dallas making webs everywhere and I do want to go out and get pix of them at Lake Tawakoni.... They are tiny little spiders and the webs are exceedingly strong and stretchy. The idea of that many spiders in one place is disconcerting, but the idea of that many mosquitoes trapped is a happy thought..... Angel

Eeps...

I should have checked to see if it was posted first, especially since the story has been out since yesterday. Lessons learned, I guess. I understand why you would want to check it out, but have you seen 8 Legged Freaks? _______________________________________________________ "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason? The article you linked to has been replaced by a very interesting one about worms in Chinese chocolates... Another food we dont want to buy from China.... And the spider webs at Lake Tawakoni have spread to cover acres and acres of trees. We are going to drive out and see them next week and get some fresh photos. Here is a more comprehensive article about the spider webs which I posted earlier today. http://www.xomba.com/millions_of_spiders_take_over_texas_park Angel
