2012 Fact or Fiction - The truth will be unveiled?

What is this mysterious 2012? By now, most people of the western world have heard of it. Yet many have no idea what it is or what it really means. I am not here today to explain it either. I have no real clue as to its meaning. I am a fan of a popular show on the am called Coast to Coast am. I have listened to more than my share of people talking about 2012 and the Mayans / Aztecs. There seems to be so much doom and gloom surrounding the 2012 event that one has to stop and ponder the ideas.

1. The Mayans call it the next age. There is really no definitive answer to what that really means.

2. Many are calling this day an Apocalypse event. The Earth will pass through the Galactic Plane and gravitational forces will be affected. The earth will lose 1/3 of its atmosphere and the land masses will change. Weather any of this will come to pass is a mystery.

3. Some are calling 2012 an age of enlightenment. This is a time where humans can ascend unto the Heavens and take there place among the angels. This is a time where you either get on that train or stay behind to start a new here on Earth.

Each of these stories is fairly large in volume and nature. Within each of these stories you can find compelling arguments and scientific facts that tend to lean in that prospective direction. It is really a matter of intellectual opinion which one is better fitting to your reality. If you're religious then you may tend to take the ascension version. If you're scientific then you may take the apocalyptic version. It's really just a matter of perception when it comes to 2012.
What I tend to do is look at all cultures and try to collaborate different information from each of them. When I find information that tends to be the same within each of these cultures, I find it easier to believe. Thou I am really careful about what I choose to believe. God has a master plan, scientific or otherwise, and it's not my job to sway the masses when there is a possibility that I might be wrong. So on that note, it's up to each of you to research and discover the meaning of 2012 for yourselves. Uncover the great mysteries of the pyramids and see if they too have something to do with 2012. Study the Mayans and learn about their calendar that stops on Dec. 21, 2012. Dive into the monks and Catholics to see what they think.
