See Henry's Cheating In 3D

The relationship between football and film has very much been a game of two halves. The Arsenal Stadium Mystery (1940), The Goalkeeper's Fear Of The Penalty (1972) and Gregory's Girl (1981) were rare highlights of a drab first half (1981's Escape To Victory has its supporters, I know, but - like Michael Owen - its time has gone). But The Miracle Of Bern (2003), Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait (2006), Offside (2006) and this year's Looking For Eric and The Damned United have seriously raised performance levels.

Now it seems there are plans to improve the relationship further by screening matches from next year's World Cup in 3D at Cineworld cinemas.
