600 weeks of love

LOTS of things have changed since 1995—the year Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (popularly known as DDLJ) was released. Its debutant director Aditya Chopra has become the creative head of Yash Raj Films, lead actor Shah Rukh Khan has become a bigger and richer star, while heroine Kajol has taken a too-long sabbatical and is focused on daughter Nysa. Mandira Bedi has long left her silly Punjabi girl act behind to make noodle straps a household term. Amrish Puri—the film’s softhearted patriarch with a tough exterior—is no more. And Jatin-Lalit, the duo that scored the film’s forever-hit songs has split.
