6.6 Million New Jobs In The US Since 2003: Why has Michigan Lost Jobs??

The President just stated in his news conference that 6.6 million new jobs have been created since 2003 for the US. It's a shame that Michigan hasn't seen much of that. Michigan is more than losing ground, it has collapsed beneath us.
Governor Jennifer Granholm blames it all on Washing DC basically George Bush is picking on us. Seriously, I don't believe that Bush has singled out Michigan and decided to make it so people move away, lose all they have and end up without jobs, health insurance or a way of life.
Granholm has made many, many promises that she has failed to follow through on. Michigan is in the hole big time and all she can do is carry on because Single Business Tax has been elimiated. Hey Jenny! If people in this state had work you could replace that money with the taxes they would be paying into the state.
Where are the Michigan jobs? The rest of the country seems to be working while Michigan has the worst unemployment rate in the country. It's time we make changes in this state to encourage employers not chase them away!

The rate

The unemployment rate drops because the folks on it drop off after six months. You get 26 weeks of unemployment pay and then you are done. I've been in and out of unemployment since 2004 here in Michigan. I can't just pull up stakes and go elsewhere, even though I've been looking. My wife has strong ties here and I'm trying my best to provide and keep her close to her own family and this is the only home my kids have ever had. Don't let the numbers fool you. Jenny has done an awful job of working on creating and keeping jobs. She's taxed and driven businesses away. I'm not on the DeVos wagon, but he might be the lesser of two evils...or he may not be. 6.6 million jobs in three

6.6 million jobs in three years isn't that much? What numbers are you comparing that to? It must be a lot of jobs if our unemployment rate has dropped at the same time.

6.6 million jobs

How many jobs has Michigan lost, and have other Midwest states also lost jobs? The old "rust belt" areas aren't doing as well as other areas that have been able to attract high-tech industries. 6.6 million jobs over 3 years doesn't sound like all that much, since the U.S. population is 300 million.
