911 Dispatcher Interview Questions

911 Dispatcher Interview Questions can be extremely useful if known ahead of time. Although different cities will have different questions, they are based around behavioral interviewing techniques. Behavioral interviewing is when you are asked situational questions. The belief is that you will act the same way if put in a similiar situation. Here are a few possible questions you may face during an interview.

Can you tell me about a time where you dealt with an irrate person ?

What would you do if a co-worker refused to talk to you during a team project ?

Tell me about a time where you had to multi task?

How will you benefit from having this job?

Tell me the route you took to get here?

You will also be given a scenario where you have to prioritize who gets help first. A strange person is outside a residence, an emergency alarm or a police man needs back up. It will be up to you to make a decision, just make sure you can back up your rational.

The number one thing to remember is to answer all the questions honestly and don't exaggerate your experience. A 911 dispatcher has to be a very ethical and trustworthy person. I wish you the best with your interview and I hope that these 911 Dispatcher Interview Questions will help you.
