A conversation with Mother Nature

Thank goodness for Mother Nature and all the wonderful things she does. Her beauty is unsurpassed as well can be her fury. If you look she is everywhere, if you listen she will reveal even life’s deepest mysteries. Her presence can be felt with every beat of the heart.
W.B. How are you feeling?
M.N. I’m feeling great, business as usual. The wind still blows the sun still shines and the world keeps spinning around.
W.B. How is it you are so optimistic? Reports show the earth is heating up, doesn’t this indicate you have a fever. Many of the world’s rivers and waterways are polluted and there are those that believe there are expanding holes in the ozone layer. From this perspective things do not seem so great.
M.B. Fret not about me, I am ok. Do to over population and industrialization my temperature is rising but this is natural. Why do you think I am called Mother Nature? Nature is the natural order of things. We live in a cause and effect universe. I am subject to the same laws as you. Having a fever is the body’s way of fighting off illness.
The fact that the earth is heating up is proof everything is in working order.
W.B. What can we do to help you?
M.N. In the big picture it’s not me that needs the help, I will be fine, I will go on. I have been around since the beginning I will be here long after the end. If the earth were to heat up ten times more I will still be here, you on the other hand may not be. It’s not me that needs the help it’s the human race that needs help.
W.B. Well if this is the case, what can the human race do to help our selves?
M.N. To begin with try getting along. Unless the people of the world come together in peace and harmony uniting for the common cause of a better life the current situation will continue to escalate. Skies will continue to be polluted as well as rivers and oceans, forests will continue to be cut down and natures other inhabitants will continue to disappear. In addition to getting along together humans need to regain their balance with nature and the earths other inhabitants.
W.B. What do you mean by regaining our balance with nature?
M.N. Well for a very long time certain empirical societies have attempted to conquer nature and their environment, it is far better and beneficial for all to harmonize with nature. Do mountains really need to be bull dozed down to make room for housing projects? Does every wide-open space need to be paved over? With intelligent planning and smart growth mankind, nature and all earth’s creatures can continue to share, enjoy and a live a happy life together.
W.B. Wait a minute; with all the destruction we have all ready sowed upon the planet isn’t it a little to late to go back to the Garden of Eden?
M.N. It’s never to late to do the right thing and as long as there is at least a crack left in a sidewalk life will continue to grow. Just as a fever can be reversed the harmful effects of over pollution, industrialization and even over fishing can be reversed it just takes effort, conscious heartfelt effort. Look at the California brown pelican for example, in a few short years this magnificent creature that was nearly extinct is now showing population increases and flourishing. Working together to protect other species including plants, animals and birds can have a very positive effect.
W.B. Is there anything we can do on a personal level to help make the world a better place?
M.N. Yes absolutely! To begin with realize the world belongs to you and all future generations to come. What you do will have a tremendous effect on the world future generations will inherit. On a basic level be aware of those around you, not just humans but all other life as well. Be aware of those that fly those that crawl those that swim. They to are an important part of the world and help keep nature balanced and working properly.
W.B. Are there any last words you would like to say for now?
M.N. A healthy planet begins with a healthy individual. Work on mind/body purification and the world will become a purer place. Real health is attained from thinking pure thoughts, drinking pure water and breathing pure air. Drive less; walk more, your body and the planet will both benefit. Live naturally and try to leave the world a better place than you found it. Aloha.

I really liked this :)

Thank you for a lovely piece of writing pointing out the issues at hand without being a guilt-tripper. People just don't think enough about the consequences of our actions--not just environmentally, but overall. Yet all things are interconnected, and what affects one facet ultimately affects the whole. Author of Fang and Fur, Blood and Bone: A Primal Guide to Animal Magic http://www.thegreenwolf.com
