A Crying Baby

A Crying Baby

I had no idea how much a baby can cry. My baby cried so much, it caused great concern, which led me to visit the pediatrician. I learned a lot from that visit.

I have grown to learn that it is quite normal for a baby to cry. When a baby cries, it is their way of telling you what they need or want. When your baby cries, it should not be ignored. Attend to your baby’s side immediately.

First of all, your baby will feel your presence, which will already make baby feel more secure. Furthermore, by attending to your baby, you will find the reason for the outburst of a cry.

Possible reasons for the crying are:

• Diaper

A good place to start is checking the diaper. Babies do not like a soiled diaper. Bear in mind that leaving a diaper on for too long, can lead to a diaper rash.

• Hunger

Another thing to consider, should baby continue to cry, is hunger. Check if your baby is perhaps still hungry, even though you may have fed baby.

• Comfort.

Babies love to be snuggled up in a blanket, as they feel as if they are in their comfort zone, hence the womb.

• Temperature

Should all else fail; check your baby’s temperature. If it is of concern, then it is necessary to contact your nurse at the pediatrician’s office for advice.

Overall, one of the most important things to remember is that when a baby cries, it is their way of telling you what they need or want. When your baby cries, it should not be ignored.

I know *I* had a "Cabbage Patch Kid"-doll when I was über-young; I don't remember if I ever changed its diaper (which I think was sewn on), but the breastfeeding wore me out! lol Uncle MythMan----------------------His Mission? http://www.xomba.com/the_new_mythman_plan -----------------------P.S. Babies!

I got a baby step sister. She cried alot and when I tried to feed her, she didn't want food etc. When we took her to the doctor it was worse than my step mum, my dad and I feared, she was very sick. We had her in the clinic for a month and we took turns staying with her. Its very important to find out why your baby is crying.
