A japanese probe to moon has taken a high definition picture of the earth. The picture is very clear and shows the continents of australia and asia. watch the picture here

Notwithstanding the lack of HD ready tv or monitor, i have seen many distant shots of the earth from space, but this is the first time i have perceived our earth to look 'beautiful' from far away. We need not look for aliens, they will come to us after they see the earth.

Like with any HD video feed or photo, the monitor/television screen must be HD-ready and be received through and HD tuner to get the full impact of the higher resolution. Even an LCD monitor cannot do it justice, although I can imagine what it is going to look like on such a screen.
