A Legend of the Game

If you were paying attention back in the 70's to the Oakland Raiders then you would have paid attention to linebacker Phil Villapiano. He made some great plays back then. Villapiano forced a fumble in Super Bowl XI helping the Raiders win the first of their Super Bowl rings.

The Raiders drafted Phil in the second round fresh out of Bowling Green. He apparently had caught the eye of Al Davis during the Senior Bowl that year.

Do you remember the Immaculate Reception? That was one crazy play and the person covering Franco Harris was Phil Villapiano.

He now lives in New Jersey and for the past 20 years has been selling container space for ships. No doubt he is successful at it after hearing Al Davis tell him "Just win baby."
