A Life Worth Living
I know John is outside that door. Don't go outside. Turn around, there is Michael. Run. Running. Where is my gun? Michael is going to shoot me. How did they find out? There's Elaine. Driving with Elaine. The countryside is beautiful. Everything is good. Better.
Blaat. Blaat. Blaat. Blaat.
"Doug turn off the alarm and get up."
Doug hits the alarm and smiles. Everything is good. He moves over and kisses his wife.
"Good morning beautiful."
"ummm"
Doug rolls out of bed and starts the shower. He loves his early morning showers. He loves the hot blast and the soothing pulses. Jennie always complains about the steam and the lack of hot water but, he really doesn't care. If she wants a hot shower, let her get up first, he responds to his guilt when he does think about it. Doug does all the normal things a man does when getting ready for work in morning - shave, pee, brush teeth, put on deodorant, put on work clothes, primp the hair, etc - but, he likes doing it. He likes doing it every morning. This is his dream life. The one he thought he always deserved but would never have. Doug cannot wipe that smile from his face. His co-workers think he is too upbeat and he is but again he doesn't care.
Doug walks out of the bathroom and gazes on his beautiful wife. He loves her to death but he feels sorry for her at the present time. She does not sleep well - usually waking up multiple times a night - causing her to always be tired. Right now she is sleeping and he hates to wake her when she is finally sleeping.
He leans over and kisses her.
"C'mon beautiful you need to get up."
"Five more minutes"
"No, my love you need to get up now, I'm leaving."
"Already?"
"Yeah, it is time for me to go."
She opens her eyes and he gazes into her sparkling green eyes, the eyes he wants to look into for the rest of his life.
"O.K., bye sweetie. Have a good day. I love you."
She sits up and kisses him.
"I love you too"
With a spring in his step, Doug walks to his car. He gets in and pauses for a moment. This is what life is all about, he thinks and starts the car.

Life Worth Living I
Good beginning. I'm hoping there will be more. You have my interest piqued. Will you tell me what prompted the drama?
Sorry
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. This is one of about 5 stories I have popping around my mind. Two I have written here under a different name, Hello Brother and Becky. Becky got me kick out of here and I have yet to finish it completely (it was definitely to lurid for this site). Hello Brother is still here in some form but it is not that great. This one and my next one are the best. Becky is my favorite but it needs some work. I stopped this one beacause I just got too busy to finish it. I started writing it on a "what-if" kinda question. Then I added some things from my life (people, places, things) and thought it added up to a pretty interesting story. Hopefully soon I will finish it.
