A Man Escaped Death After Being Bit By A Deadly Spider

Where do I begin? I hate spiders. I have a deadly fear of spiders. Why? Haven't you noticed an increase in spider populations around your home? I have. In fact, last year I was bit twice, once on the left forearm, and secondly on my right knee. A red line ran up my arm from the bite on my forearm which scared the crap out of me. My leg further placed a fear of spiders in me when my knee swelled up to twice its natural size. I am a flower gardener and natural greenthumb and I have only been gardening for 5 years now. I always vacation from work the first week of spring and the first week of summer to plant and garden. Until last year, I made a mistake of gardening in shorts and t-shirt. You should always wear long sleeve shirts and pants when gardening to prevent being bit by creepy crawly things.

But now there is a report of a man in Newcastle, Australia that obviously was an avid gardener and new about wearing long pants. But that did not prevent him from getting bit. He was bit by a black funnel-web spider which is deadly. His quick reaction and knowledge help save his life. Read his story here:
