A Possible Hard Candy Christmas for Fido and Fluffy

A Possible Hard Candy Christmas for Fido and Fluffy

Well, we're just a couple of days from Christmas, and it's time to go over our lists to make sure we've picked up a gift for all of our special somebodys. Uh-oh. What about Fido or Fluffy?

Isn't it strange how our most loyal of companions so often get placed at the end of our Christmas lists! Every year, I find myself with the same dilemna around the 23rd of December--trying to find dog toys for Christmas! As I rush out to the pet stores and peruse various pet departments, I am forced to shuffle through all the late holiday season leftover dog toys.

Finding something my dogs will actually play with (from the remaining toys) is always challenging. But this year, the lovely obstacle of trying to find squeakies not made in China will make my hunt extra fun!

Besides the current clammer about lead-based paints on children's toys originating from Chinese manufacturers, China's ugly past disregard for the canine species is reason enough not to purchase dog toys made in China. There's no telling what they'd be willing to spray on toys for measley little mutts!

Something tells me that of the remaining toys in the pet stores I will be hard-pressed to find something made in the good ole USA. Oh well. Maybe it's simply going to be a Hard Candy Christmas for my pooches this year.
