A Telemarketer Called Me At 5 O'Clock in the Morning!

A Telemarketer Called Me At 5 O'Clock in the Morning!

So, I was having trouble sleeping last night. Truth be told, I still haven't slept. Not that it's a big surprise to have trouble sleeping, I do have insomnia.

In any event, I was just starting to wind down and potentially fall asleep when my phone rang. I looked at the clock to discover it was 4:50 in the morning!

Irritated, I answered the phone. Some guy, an obvious telemarketer, asked for me. I was in such shock, I could only say, "Do you know that it's not even 5 o'clock in the morning?" He apologized and wished me a good day.

A good day? Are you kidding me? After THAT? It was bad enough that I couldn't sleep (something for which I have at this point lost all hope, considering my children are awake and just finishing breakfast in the living room). But, now I have this moron calling me at 4:50 a.m.?? What, was he drunk?!

As an interesting side note, as I write this out, wishing I could adequately portray screaming and eye twitching over the internet, through the written word, I looked over to see a Xombyte entitled "Anger Management". I'm going to need some of that, after I fantasize about shoving a telephone up that telemarketer's...

A link is placed on website of every telephone network on their wesite or jus call customer call and tell them... But crazy story though.. nice one to enjoy but irritating to experience....

Telemarketers

This may be an obvious question, but are you on the Do Not Call registry? That should get rid of most such calls, except for those from polling organizations and charities.

You might even want the "just say no to telemarketers" gizmo

No, "gizmo" is not the brand name, but there is a device that has been marketed that plugs into your phone line like a caller ID box. When one of the nefarious salespeople call you, all you have to do is press the button on the device and a pre-recorded message says something like "This number does not accept sales calls. Kindly remove it from your call list" before hanging up the phone. No muss, no fuss. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

My husband cracks me up with the telemarketer calls

He got a call one morning from a telemarketer. He told them, " How about you give me your number so I can call you back at your home. Then you can tell me how you like it. LOL

Good idea!

I like the idea of keeping an excuse list. Knowing me though, I'd forget to look at it, lol. I tell them I'm not in a lot. I think I'm going to start telling them that I moved and didn't leave any forwarding information. Losing Weight and Feeling Great! Now the phone rings at a very odd hour and an automated voice starts talking. How do you yell at a machine? Or try to sell it the same thing it's trying to sell you? How do you tell it to stop calling you? All on my cellphone too.
