Abby McGrew to Stand By Her Man Outdoors in Frigid Green Bay
posted January 20, 2008 - 1:36pmNew York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is determined not to suffer from the same fate as Tony Romo. He’s asked his fiancé Abby McGrew to sit outside in the stands today at the Giants’ game against Green Bay at Lambeau Field, rather than sitting in a warm, comfy luxury suite.
Why? Well, Eli has noticed that he doesn’t play well in games in which McGrew was watching from the luxury suites—he believes it’s a jinx, Eli’s older brother Cooper has told the New York Post. So he’s asked his fiancé to sit outside in the stands in the open air, where the temperature is expected to be below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
"Abby almost always sits in the stands, but I guess once or twice she was invited to sit in a suite and things didn't end well," Cooper said. Apparenly Eli told Abby McGrew “I don't care if it's 4 degrees in Green Bay, you're sitting in the stands," Cooper said.
Eli Manning isn’t taking any chances of ending up like Tony Romo, the Cowboys quarterback who had bad performances in games in which his current girlfriend, singer Jessica Simpson, attended.
To be fair to Simpson, though, Romo also had a bad game when a previous girlfriend, singer Carrie Underwood, was in attendance. Maybe Romo should just quit dating singers?
