If only....

If only India could organize its sports teams and national teams a bit more, then we can win more Gold.

Indians and the Indian government pay too much attention to Cricket while the other sports suffer popularity, organization and funding. That is clearly wrong and India needs to fix that issue right away.

India has one of the best shooting, track and hockey athletes - many of which go unrecognized by Indians and Indian government and the media.

I couldn't agree more

Ebey,

I think India has great potential and we suffer at the world events only for want of better resources and attention to other sporing events.

The corporate big giants of India can help out the Indian government by sponsoring these players and improving their training facilities. We could have an Olympic sports village where sports people from all parts of India could come and be trained and made ready for such sporting events on the world arena.

But, sadly, even the corporates go only where the money is. Cricket! We just don't seem to see anything beyond cricket, which is a shame. Our national game is hockey and the fact that our men did not qualify this year for the Olympics says a lot about the condition of our sports.
