On Abortion and Euthanasia

If I want to kill myself that's nobody else's business! right?!

I can do what I want, and if I've had enough with this miserable life there are plenty of ways to terminate it. Some methods of suicide seem ghastly and overly painful and prone to failure. But there are some easy ways to go.

Now, if I feel like unplugging myself but somehow can't reach the socket then is my desire for termination any less? Indeed, it may even be stronger, as being half useless could be seen as being half dead anyway.

So who has the right to say it is illegal? Who has the right to proclaim that their deluded fantasy and moral distortions are enough justification to stop me from doing what I want? I would not be harming anybody, apart from perhaps the bad faith of those slave religions who are very aware that slaves have the ultimate freedom to say good-bye... and good riddance.

On the other hand, and at the other end of life, I was born - not my choice but then free will is over-estimated in importance. I was a "pleasant surprise", believe it or not. But if I had been otherwise then perhaps I wouldn't be here. I can't say I worry about that - wouldn't be able to miss it really.

And yet the slave religions want to indoctrinate the world into believing that the soul - whatever that might be - gets trapped at the moment of conception. This means that the most crowded place outside the known universe is purgatory, as there are billions upon billions of spontaneous natural, often unknown, miscarriages happening all the time. A whole army of foetal souls with no memories as no brain, no feelings as no senses, no regrets, no hatred, no... anything. But that is playing into the myth-mongers' hands so I shall stop my fantasy... if only they would stop theirs.

The real tyranny is not that organisms die, but that the warped brains of the myth-mongers not only want to control every moment of every day of every life, but also the alpha and omega, birth and death.

Some cults have the decency to enact mass suicides as a way of ushering in their collective apocalypse. Perhaps those who hold such an end of times scenario should take a leaf out of their book, and leave the rest of us alone. After all, I have nothing against suicide, I won't hold it against them. Ever!!

Bummba> I have no need of

Bummba> I have no need of the services of (Dr) Kevorkian. Looks like he should have come to Europe - less publicity but less jail time. Actually, seems he was dumb enough to do an assisted suicide without a license. The court was easily able to ignore euthanasia and do him for illegal possession and therefore homicide. he should have seen that coming but got too cocky. There's always a next time. Not for his last patient, but he's not complaining. Money for your Thoughts - join now OWO-HP

Sid Vicious

Nah jdub, the pills n booze ranks in the painful and possible failure category - failure is a plea for help not a one-way flight. Sky diving works! :-) Very funny, though - the tax take on death. But I don't think far off the mark. The dread that you've stuck two fingers right in society's face and left the party when you wanted to before it got boring. I Did It My Way by Sid Vicious springs to mind. Money for your Thoughts - join now OWO-HP

Heck, you don't even need a decrepit doctor

You can swallow a bottle of sleeping pills and wash it down with a fifth of booze and get the same end result--not that I recommend it. There are lots of ways to check out and I'm sure they are posted on the Internet somewhere. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!

The State objects to losing tax revenue

If an otherwise healthy adult decides to end his or her own life, the cynic in me believes that the only reason the State objects is the loss of tax revenue from whatever would have remained in the working lifetime of the adult. They don't seem to mind when a retired senior dies from a lifetime of working too hard to support the bureaucracy in Washington. They also don't seem to mind abortion, which the same cynic in me believes is because the unborn are not revenue-providing beings. In a truly free society, a person could do whatever he or she wanted so long as it didn't interfere with the rights of others. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!

Rycharde Manne if you have a fear you

might get arrested for euthanizing yourself ,there is a doctor that will see you by appointment. Dr. Kavorchian. Good luck!

really? attempted suicide is

really? attempted suicide is a crime? lmfao. Wasn't thinking of it in those terms. Could be a surreal trial. You could have a doppelganger, then prosecute and defend yourself. What would the crime be? attempted self-murder? autohomicide? and the defence? I screwed up. Money for your Thoughts - join now OWO-HP

old
