About Allergic Conjunctivitis

Allergic conjunctivitis occurs when the conjunctiva, or lining that covers the eyelid and white of the eye, becomes inflamed due to allergens, causing histamine to be released making blood vessels in the conjunctiva swell. Allergic conjunctivitis can be seasonal or last all year long. < p>
Symptoms:
Symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis include extreme itching, redness, burning and watery eyes, eyelid puffiness, stringy discharge, pain, blurry vision, and a sensation of something in the eye...
