Education by way of the Internet has come into its own.  There are many institutions offering online educational programs.  Most available courses cost considerably.  Academy Central is the Internet high school presentation of the not-for-profit foundation, Academy Central, Inc.  Its Web site is currently undergoing renovation and upgrading.  Featured are excellent programs developed and distributed by other non-profit and open source companies and institutions involved in education. Academy Central provides opportunities for all students, worldwide, to study a wide variety of subjects without cost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is also being assembled an enlarged E-library based on Internet links.  Home schoolers will find that this Internet resource will greatly help them with their independent studies.  Students in "sit-down" class schools can get extra help with their teacher-led studying.  Adults can learn new languages and other skills at no cost in the hours before, during, and after work.Volunteer tutors and mentors may find it interesting and rewarding to become associated with Academy Central.  The goal is to complete the upgrading by January, 2010.  Come and take the journey with us.
