Breaking Local News that I Can Actually Do Something About

Sometimes I think about the News and think it’s too far away for me to do anything about.

But, what about the addicted mom who struggling next door?

What about the traveling homeless guy passing through my town?

What about the acquaintance that I haven't seen in years who I hear is in the hospital?

What about the senior who eats only one meal a day and that at the Senior Service Center?

What about the teenager who is just traveling from town to town by hoping on trains and hasn't eaten today?

How is that old guy that sits forlorn at the park day after day, do I know his name? What is his story?

These are the local news updates that I could find, if only I would take the time to listen to the stranger in my own hometown’s story?

The mantra for changing the world could be just as simple as extending a hand and repeating over and over again:

"Hello, my name is… How are you today?"
