Air mattress. I'm a bigger fella, so I've always been suspicious of air mattresses, all of which seem built for some thin waif half of my weight. Then when I visited my dad in Tampa, he brought out an adjustable double air mattress. That thing was sleeping Nirvana.

First of all, I wasn't even aware that there was a such thing as a double air mattress. Scratch that up to learn something new every day. Generally I don't sleep worth anything on an air bed, but this one offered great back support and was really comfortable, too.

Within five minutes of laying down on the air bed, I was out for eight hours, which is pretty unheard of for me. Air mattresses may seem like a strange subject for an article, but I'm kind of a vagabond, and finding a good night's sleep is really difficult - so any time I can recommend a good sleep option, that seems to be something worth talking about.

Then the kicker: the double air mattress, which was some of the most comfortable sleeping I've ever had, is discontinued. At least the one that my dad has, and is unwilling to sell even after a $100 offer.

At least now I have the hope that with all my drifting and vagabonding, maybe there's another double air mattress out there somewhere that can offer me great sleeping with my next bare bones apartment. They certainly beat the regular air mattresses by a mile.
