Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online. It is one of the few areas where you can start your online business with no money upfront. This is appealing to many new online entrepreneurs. An affiliate program allows you to sell someone else’s product. They are called the merchant. Your only job is to send referrals to the merchant’s sales page. When one of your referrals makes a purchase, you get a commission on the sale. Commissions can vary between 30% and 75% of the total price of the product.

There are many companies that offer affiliate products. ClickBank, Commission Junction, and PayDotCom are among the three biggest. I have had the most success with ClickBank, but I have done well with the other two as well. You can register with these companies for free. There is no cost or obligation on your part. That is one of the reasons that affiliate programs are so popular.

After registering, you need to choose which products you want to promote. The products you recommend should all be related to your niche. Affiliate sales are easiest to generate if you have a website or blog. Develop ads for every affiliate product you recommend and place these ads in prominent places on every page of your site. Then it is a matter of generating traffic. If you bring targeted traffic to your site, people will click on your ads and you will make money. As you bring more traffic to your site, your income will increase accordingly.

You can increase your Internet traffic using a variety of methods. Some popular methods are writing articles, writing blogs, writing reviews, posting to forums, using free classified ads, using paid ads, search engine optimization, link exchanges, pay per click advertising, and creating videos. As you can see, there are many ways to generate traffic. Some of the methods above are free and some are not. I usually recommend that my subscribers and coaching students start out using free methods in the beginning. Then, as they begin to make money, add in some of the paid techniques.
