Ahead of My Time or A Day Late and a Dollar Short

While rummaging in the library a few years ago, I found some really cool line art by Aztecs, Mayans and other Native Americans. The best thing, business wise, was that none of these pictures was copyrighted. So, using my entrepreneurial brainstorming, I developed some
unique notepaper and cards with these designs on them. I printed them on the finest linen paper stock in pleasing colors. I matched these with envelopes of the correct size. Even using the highest quality materials, I was able to offer this stationery at very economical prices. It should have been a great success. I had done everything right.
Nevertheless, no matter how cool the cards and artwork, I sold very few sets of stationery. In spite of gorgeous, exclusive stationery, it was impossible to revive the dying skill of letter writing. Nobody writes letters anymore! What was I thinking? Some people still send greeting cards, but they are too lazy to think up what to write inside; they want the sentiment pre-printed so they only have to sign their name. The rest of us just send email and the occasional ecard.
However, the line art would have made some exceptional tattoos. Now where did I leave those pictures?
