Ain't nothing special about Chelsea's 2007 season
posted May 10, 2007 - 9:01amI am not sure after the anticlimax of this season that King Roman the lord of the Chelsea empire would still consider Jose Mourinho as the special one. I also do not think Mr Abramovich will consider winning the league cup as something special. Although who knows the Blues may yet win the FA cup this season. If the king still lets the self acclaimed special one rule the roost at Stamford bridge come next season i want hope he has learned a few lessons this season.Well let me highlight some of these lessons to him.
Lesson 1:Money does not buy happiness and money sure does not guarantee success or achievement.
Lesson 2: assembling an expensive players together does not translate to having a championship winning team.
Lesson 3: Mr Mourinho should give credit to whom and where it is due. He should quit yapping about how the 'best team lost on the night' whenever his team loses or on how managers tend to favor particular teams.
Lesson 4: That you have the most expensive team around does not make you the best manager around even if that manager is the best paid. In the premiership alone I can point out 3 managers who have more technical savvy than the special one.
Lesson 5: Money with wisdom is far better than money without wisdom and a wise poor man is better than a foolish rich man. I am in no way calling Mr. Mourinho a fool. he certainly is not a fool but some of his player purchases have simply not demonstrated wisdom. Needless to say more but can anyone remember how many goals a 31million pound almost over the hill Schevchenko scored this season.I certainly can't.
