199- AND OF THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN ALLAH, AND WHAT WAS SENT DOWN TO YOU AND WHAT WAS SENT DOWN TO THEM, HUMBLING THEMSELVES TO ALLAH, THEY DO NOT SELL HIS AYAHS FOR A MISERLY PRICE.
nbsp;THOSE WILL HAVE THEIR REWARD WITH THEIR LORD, AND ALLAH IS SWIFT IN RECKONING.
Allah the Highest is speaking of the people of the book who believed in what was sent down to them then believed in what was sent down to Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him. They have twice the reward from Allah the Highest who said: “THOSE TO WHOM WE HAVE GIVEN THE BOOK BEFORE THIS (THE QURAN), THEY BELIEVED IN IT (THE QURAN) * AND WHEN IT IS RECITED TO THEM THEY SAY: ‘IT IS THE TRUTH FROM OUR LORD, AND BEFOREHAND WE WERE SUBMITTERS’ * THEY ARE REWARDED TWICE FOR THEIR PATIENCE ND PERSEVERANCE, AND THEY PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM THE EVIL-DEEDS WITH THE GOOD DEEDS, AND THEY SPEND OUT OF WHAT WE PROVIDED FOR THEM”. (S: 28 A: 52-54)
They are to the contrary many who did not believe, for they would believe in their books only, and nothing sent down after. Allah the Highest said about them: “ WHEN IT IS SAID TO THEM: “BELIEVE IN WHAT ALLAH SENT DOWN”, THEY SAY: “WE ONLY BELIEVE IN WHAT WAS SENT DOWN TO US”, AND THEY DISBELIEVE IN WHAT WAS SENT DOWN SINCE, ALTHOUGH IT IS THE TRUTH, CONFIRMING WHAT THEY HAVE” (S:2 A:91)
Those of them who believed in the message of Mohamed prayer and peace upon him are rewarded twice, Allah the Highest tells us. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him told us about three kinds of people who will be rewarded twice, the first is: “A man who believed in his prophet then believed in me”. (M: Eman; 241 & Da: Nekah; 46)
Those who believed in their prophet i.e. were Christians or Jews, and then believed in Mohamed prayer and peace upon him, they have chosen the Hereafter to this life. They have to tolerate being criticized and mocked. They have to tolerate the hostility of their families, friends, work and neighbours. Allah the Highest rewards them for their faith twice, for what they endure. Such is Allah’s bounty; He gives to whom He wills.
