All about "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo": Mythology of SGI-USA's Chanting Meditation, Taken from the Ancient Tibetan Buddhism of Nichiren
Uncle MythMan explains ...

The link below will tell you what you need to know if your mind is already open to the teachings of The Lotus Sutra (the guiding book of Nichiren Buddhism).

But 'good Christians' need to hear this meaning in order to be aware that Nichiren Buddhism is not any kind of "worship" (in the traditional sense), but is rather an appreciation for the luck humanity is given (you could call it 'being thankful for the gifts of God' if that helps you sleep at night).

The central practice of Nichiren Buddhism is the repeated chanting of 'Nam Myoho Renge Kyo' ('we raise The Lotus Sutra,' naming it by its ancient Asian title); any sociologist will tell you that–though 'chanting' it may make it seem like it's meant to 'bring up some supernatural force from beyond the mortal world'–it's only meant to set the chanter's mind to receive 'whatever actually occurs in life' in the most-prosperous, -profitable and -peaceful way possible.

Meaning of ~Renge~ ('ren-geh')

~Renge~ is briefly translated "lotus" (with the understanding that 'lotus' represents the simultaneous seeding and blossoming of the plant and not some yoga-position, the same way "manger" is understood to represent Jesus' crib and not some dinner plate). I've also heard ~ren~ and ~ge~ defined seperately as 'man's willful actions' and 'others' reactions thereto.' Karma ... ... but Uncle MythMan still KNOWS you're more awesome than NFL Cheerleaders, yet needs to hear *your* comments on http://is.gd/2s8V http://is.gd/22wY http://is.gd/1fSs http://is.gd/1fRg http://is.gd/1fSe & http://is.gd/1fSj -- Click His Stamp to Discover!

Meaning of "Kyo"

The simplest definition of 'kyo' is "(the) univeral sound" (we Americans and our constant need for singularity-verification! lol). In the context of 'Nam Myoho Renge Kyo,' it's something like "the respected echo of what happens with the Divine Will."---the TRUE report, not 'the report of the happy-part' that the Bible brings. ...Does Uncle MythMan know you're still awesome-like-the-2008-Olympics? or is`e just commenting here to hear *your* comments on http://is.gd/22wY http://is.gd/1fSs http://is.gd/1fRg http://is.gd/1fSe & http://is.gd/1fSj ??
