Alzheimer and Memory Loss

It seems that the focus on memory loss to diagnose the onset of Alzheimer's disease may be flawed.

A study by the University of Kansas has shown that spatial skills are the first to decline. These are skills involved in activities such as map-reading and completing jigsaw puzzles.  These are warning signs that show up some years before the usual clinical diagnosis.

It is important to detect warning signs so that treatment can be given at the earliest stage.
