Is american football a religion? I have been looking about at the stats for football viewing during the superbowl - 40 million homes watching the game. Not to mention the depth of televised games across the televison networks. This is a big game in the US for sure.I'd say the biggest game and not only in the US but canada also has a big following too. Arguably this game is on keel with a religious following, and in a few states is also being called a religion.

But what do you think? i my view anything with mass following should be a religion. But the church would simply deny my views and consider that denouncing the holy spirit- as there is only one god. How many towns, cities, state have a cult following of the biggest game in america?

I don't  what anybody else thinks.......  Can you be a man of church and still believe that football is a religion? And is it ok to miss church on sunday to watch a game?
