Tonight's American Idol began with the usual Brady Bunch Variety Hour routine. Then it was time to tell each contestant, one by one, if they were "safe" or in the "bottom 3". Here is the order:

Chikezie - bottom 3
Brooke White - safe
Carly Smithson - safe
David Archuleta - safe
David Cook - safe
Syesha Mercado - bottom 3
Michael Johns - safe

Then they took their usual break to draw out the night. They had viewers call in their questions, then Kimberly Locke (3rd place, season 2) performed. Back to the other 3 left:

Ramiele Malubay - safe
Jason Castro - bottom 3
Kristy Lee Cook - safe

Now one was sent back to sit and that was Jason, leaving Chikezie and Syesha. And the loser is....Chikezie.
