American Idol Season 8 Kicks Off Tonight, Tuesday, January 13th at 8 PM on FOX

The new season of American Idol is upon us. American Idol Season 8 premier airs tonight, Tuesday, January 13th at 8 PM on FOX. This season will see a new judge (Kara DioGuardi) joining Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson, there will be some new judging rules (I'm not really sure I understand), and there has been talk of showing less of those really terrible tryouts like the infamous William Hung. I'm not sure if the latter is such a good idea...the auditions are my favorite part..especially the terrible ones! I don't usually watch much after the auditions and I'm sure there are plenty of others who feel the same way. Now, 'So You Think You Can Dance' keeps my attention throughout the whole season!

Not an Idol Watcher Either

I've never really seen American Idol either. Just seen some clips and commercials for it. Doesn't have anything to do with being cool or uncool, or hating it. I just found myself drifting away from primetime TV a few years ago, and spending more time online. So You Think You Can Dance looks interesting and fun, I have seen that a while ago. Idol just never held my interest for some reason. (Confession: I also like LOLcats...the sillier the better...) http://www.xomba.com/user/allison_west http://www.triond.com/users/Allison+West http://thecommacafe.blogspot.com

Undying hatred?

Whatup, I never expressed "undying hatred" for American, Idle, I just said I didn't watch it. Nothing "cool" about my choice; it's just that I spend far too much time online to watch much TV, and that show doesn't really interest me. If I was really trying to be "cool," would I have publicly admitted on Xomba that I find LOLcats funny?

wHATUP... Your confessions

only prove you are 100% male. My boyfriend watches the SYTYCD with me as well, however his comments are not about the dancing techniques, but the spicy moves and costumes. He watches intently and will occasionally ask, "Why don't their boobs fall out?" I enjoyed reading your confession and I say stand proud my man, stand proud! Oh yeah... Free SEO.. I have Cats on DVD if you want to watch the musical. It is really quite good! "...Giddy and foolish the whole day through, Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?" Ms. Dakota

I, too, am an avid AI fan as well as a SYTYCD fan (the latter for not the purest of reasons unfortuately). I wish I could be as cool as Idle and KJ and profess my undying hatred of these show but atlas, I cannot. I hang my head in shame and hold myself up for ridicule from the great Xombanation. Here was my confession from last year. http://www.xomba.com/the_shame_i_feel_confession_of_a_so_you_think_you_can_dance_viewer Visit my homepage here

American, Idle

KJ, I've never watched it either, except for once when I saw 15 minutes of it while stuck overnight in an airport hotel in Dallas. Let the gasping continue!

Man, I've never watched

Man, I've never watched American Idol. But I haven't watched much prime time television for quite a number of years. I'll stand back, now, while everyone gasps at my admission. :) ↑ Grab this Headline Animator Free Chicken Wings

Avid watcher of both!

I enjoy "American Idol" from start to finish. Watching someone living their dream, even if they really can't sing, is inspirering. And, yes, I voted for David Cook! lol Same for, "So You Think You Can Dance", which also sends me back in time to high school and drill team. Ooohhh...those good ole' days of flexibility!
