America's National Park Lodges - A Guide and Reviews
The U.S. has many great national parks, but many people may not know that there are good, affordable lodging choices right in the parks. Not only do they save you the trouble of driving to the national parks, but they are usually near scenic areas, park activities, or both. And depending on the national park, the options can range from inexpensive tent cabins to relatively luxurious fancy lodges.
A book called "The Complete Guide to the National Park Lodges" has been recommended by several different magazines and Web sites as offering an informative, thorough guide to the lodging options in the U.S. national parks. At this Web site you can find a good description of what's in the book, as well as links to other resources to traveling to and staying in America's national parks.
PBS, the U.S. Public Broadcasting Service, has begun its second season of the series, "Great Lodges of the National Parks". Among the lodges it takes the viewer to in the show's first show of season two are the Furnace Creek Inn in Death Valley, California; Lake Quinault Lodge in the heart of the Northwest's Olympic National Forest; and Wallowa Lake Lodge, which is in Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park.
For more information on national park lodges, you can read this article from MSNBC on the top 10 national park lodges, and a similar article from Forbes Traveler called "Best National Park Lodges."
