5. Boston, MA, based on Bose Stereo
6. New York City, NY, based on media moguls and investment bankers
7. Dallas, TX, based on oil moguls and the heir to the Walton family fortune
8. Los Angeles, CA, based on movie studios and media conglomerates
9. Washington, DC, based on politically-connected capitalists, like the Carlyle Group

This rounds out the Top 10. One city, Las Vegas, long synonymous with hedonism and fleeting wealth, finished a surprising 11th.
