Anarchy in the U.K.
posted September 20, 2008 - 6:57amThe Sex Pistols released their first single, "Anarchy in the U.K." in 1976. This is the punk rock tune that initiated the world-wide punk movement. Band members included Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and originally Glen Matlock who was replaced by Sid Vicious.
This single was also featured on the group's only studio album in their short-lived, yet influential run. The album was called "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols."
I use the best I use the rest
I use the enemy.
I use anarchy
'cause I wanna be anarchy,
Its the only way to be
Is this the MPLA
or is this the UDA
or is this the IRA
I thought it was the UK
or just another country
another council tenancy.
I wanna be an anarchist
(oh what a name)
And l wanna be an anarchist
(I get pissed destroy)
