Anne of Green Gables - 100th Anniversary on NPR

Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery was published in 1908 and sold 19,000 copies in the first five months!

Here is NPR's write up about it for Weekend Edition and the link also includes an audio option as well.

A special edition of the book has been released but if you happen to own one of the 1908 copies, we need to talk!

Lisa of Green Acres

Most people don't know that the hit 1960s TV series "Green Acres" was written by Lucy Maud Montgomery under the pen name of "Paul Henning." Other classics that inspired hit sitcoms include "Jane Eyre," which clearly became "The Beverly Hillbillies;" "Tess of the d'Urbevilles," which found fame as "Sex in the City;" and "Jude the Obscure," from which "The Facts of Life" is such a rip-off it's not even funny.
