Another First Hand Account From Mumbai Terror Attack - Exclusive on Xomba

I just came to know from my maid that one of her close relatives, her mother's brother, has been working at the Taj Heritage Hotel as a kitchen staff for many years now, and he is almost nearing retirement. There were a few other of their close acquaintances also who were a part of the same kitchen staff. This is an account from my maid's relative first hand exclusive on Xomba.

He was working at the kitchen of the Taj Heritage Hotel as he had the night shift on the fateful night on Wednesday, 26th November. He remembers that sometime after 9:00 PM he had to go upstairs to take a guests order and he was just returning back downstairs back to the kitchen when he heard loud noise of gunfire and commotion outside. He immediately ran inside the kitchen just as the terrorists came close on his heels and burst into the kitchen and started firing indiscriminately. He and five others managed to jump inside a cupboard, unseen by the terrorists in all the commotion and they stayed cramped inside this cupboard for that whole night.

This man had got injured in the neck with a glass that had embedded in the skin when the firing had started, and he was bleeding. However, even though it hurt a lot, he kept quiet, afraid to make any sound, lest the terrorists come back. So, afraid to come out, they stayed in the cupboard till Thursday morning when the Naval Commandos came and rescued them.

He was then taken to the JJ Hospital where he is at present still. He lost a lot of blood and the doctors are afraid that he may go into a shock or coma. He is still in a critical condition. He later learned that all his other acquaintances who were there in the kitchen that night were not so lucky. They were all shot down by the terrorists, including the head chef.
