Appearance of a Good Fine Jewelry Sales Person
posted October 17, 2008 - 1:03pmThe survey of customers showed that the good jewelry salesperson must love both his jewelry and customers. He or she needs to be personally need and a good housekeeper. He should be a psychologist, stage director, scientist and romanticist.
When one is selling precious metals and gems, his appearance must support his claim to knowledge of the product.
The proper dressing for men should be a dark business suit, white shirt and an appropriate tie. The jewelry pieces should include tie tacks, pins or bars and matching or contrasting cuff links. Rings, if worn, should be masculine yet in good taste for the occasion.
Women should wear only dark, tailored suits or dresses with a single choker, strand of pearls or similar jewelry. Other jewelry should be scatterr pins, bracelets, watches, or rings with those stones and mountings which either match or compliment the costume.
For both men and women, hands and fingernails demand particular attention. Nothing is so disillusioning as seeing a brilliant diamond shown by a dirty hand.
A good salesperson should smell good. Proper perfumes and colognes should be worn that goes with the professional environment.
Good and clean environment, tidy and pleasant personalities, counts a lot in increasing the sales of any business, specially the sophisticated businesses like Fine Jewelry Retailing.
