Apple Vacation Horrible Customer Service
posted December 29, 2008 - 7:36amEvery year we travel as a family of 15 on vacation. This year, we chose Crown Paradise Resort, Cancun, Mexico and booked through Apple Vacation. This was our first trip ever booked through Apple. It will also definitely be our last!
We chose our hotel based on Apple's 5 out of 6 Apple Rating. However, their rating was years out of date. It seems that the hotel was excellent about 3 years ago, before a hurricane caused major damage. Although it looked OK, when it rained, the entire hotel leaked and flooded. Two of our 5 rooms flooded, the entire lobby, some of the restaurants and the majority of the hallways. Did I mention all the floors throughout the entire resort were marble? Have you ever walked or attempted to walk on wet marble floors? I don't recommend it, especially with young children!
When we weren't slipping on water, we were trying to kill the ants that infested our bathroom. Yes, that's right, ants or sugar ants as the front desk called them. According the the front desk staff, they aren't a big deal and are very common. They offered to come spray them nightly? Eww, they were on our toothbrushes! I chalked it up to the hotels way of selling new, overpriced toothbrushes in the gift shop!
After returning home and making the best of the trip, I contacted Apple to explain what happened. They then contacted the hotel. Crown Paradise admitted the hotel flooded, however, said it was due to extreme rain? They said we had ants and they sprayed them, not a big deal? They addressed other issues raised about the Kids Club not being opened as stated and said they changed their hours. Apple felt that all issues were addressed and closed the case. I contacted them again to state that I was not looking for anything, just hoped that they would look into this further, as I had hoped this wouldn't happen to another family and they refused. They said that they hotels response was fine and everything at the resort was fine.
Crown Paradises rating remains the same with Apple. I have since been in contact with others who have stayed at this hotel and experienced these same conditions. Many of which have also complained to Apple Vacations. Apple Vacations in more concerned with making money than providing quality vacations.
Before booking with Apple Vacations, google them and read others experiences. They are not a reputable company and have little to no customer service.
