Appreciate and Compliment

Appreciate and Compliment

I wonder if it is easier to give compliment and appreciate others as compared to always criticizing and spotting the mistakes and asking for more improvement. I think the reason why we tend to be so negative at times is that we were brought up in that condition for too long and it is hard to realize we are doing it incorrectly.

Upon seeing marked improvement on efforts to organize his files and folders, I see that his face lightens up when he hears a compliment on job well done on packing his bag on his own. I think our children needs to hear a lot more of compliments and appreciation as I mentioned earlier of the ever negativism surrounding us, has already had its effects on everyone.

Is it hard to compliment? If there is an excellent work done or a nice job performed, give the due credit, whether is it in due recognition or in monetary terms. These could also come in the form of simple items such as an Thank You Post In Note, a Card, an appreciation email or even better, treat the person or all to a simple snack or lunch.

Is it hard to appreciate? It may be difficult to come out naturally, but it takes some simple small work here and there to beat that negative habit and fill it with sincere compliments, heartful appreciations and positive constructive feedback for self motivated improvements.

I remember that words really have a cutting edge when used appropriately.
