Are There Glaciers In Africa Any More?

Yes the glaciers in Africa in the mountain areas are shrinking very fast.
The cause of this has been from the rampant deforestation of land around the mountains to make room for cultivation and human settlements.
These changes have now been documented by UNEP and Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya have shown shrinking glaciers.Other environmental changes like the drying up of lakes has been witnesses in the whole region.

It is sad to note how development choices, population growth, climate change and conflict have impacted on all the natural-based resources of the continent.

Something has to be done and soon as the population of the continent booms and the demands of this increase weighs heavily on a continent that has yet to come to grips with the seriousness of the effect that this destruction has on the survival of the African continent.
