Are the War on Drugs and the War on Terrorism Really Wars on Free Speech?

I recently came across an article about free speech as it relates to illegal drugs. In Supreme Court case Morse v. Fredrick, the judges were to decide whether free speech covered the promotion of illegal drugs. A high school student had his banner destroyed, by a teacher during a field trip, which read "Bong Hits 4 Jesus". The question sited is basically whether or not one is protected under the First Amendment to promote the use of illegal drugs. If you would like to read more, click on the link below.
